FACULTY OF LAW IN
SU "St. KLIMENT OHRIDSKI “FOR 2015/2016
PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM
STATE OF THE RESEARCH ON THE TOPIC OF THE PROJECT IN BULGARIA AND ABROAD
Leaching Roman private law and is part of the compulsory courses at all major universities in Europe. Modern trends in the development of Romance science have made it possible to teach more broadly Roman public law, as well as the Romance tradition within the history and dogmatic development of law in Europe. These optional courses are attended with special interest both at Sofia University and in European universities and this is the basis for closer cooperation and exchange of ideas, programs, didactic literature, etc. at the international level.
At the moment in Bulgaria for the needs of teaching Roman law there is a textbook by Prof. Mihail Andreev with the latest edition from 1975, 2 translated textbooks by Herbert Hausmaninger on Roman property and contract law, Dictionary of basic terms by Prof. Pascal Pishon and Prof. Jean-Philippe Dunant. There are also several proceedings of scientific conferences, a monograph and several articles on the teaching of Roman public law. Presentations were also made at various scientific forums on contemporary trends in the study of Roman law and the Romance tradition. The manuals published in 2005-2007 have long been a bibliographic rarity.
Since 2014, the Roman Law Circle resumed its activities. This project is fully consistent with the students' proposals and reflects their views on teaching, as well as the ideas and initiatives of young colleagues who since 2014 took the seminars on Roman law, as well as colleagues from the theoretical and civil disciplines. .
There has never been a novelist magazine in Bulgaria, and also in the neighboring Balkan countries. The idea for this was previously supported by more than 40 prominent novelists from Europe, and currently the first issue of the magazine is ready to start with 18 ready-to-publish articles and an almost ready second issue. In addition, the experience of the seminar assistants has also been pre-summarized and synchronized so that students can have the same level of preparation for the exams.
ACTUALITY OF SCIENTIFIC PROBLEMS
Legal education is important for the development of higher education in general. At the same time, it is no longer closed within national universities, nor is it dedicated only to national legislation. Roman law is the foundation on which the legal systems in Europe are built.
At the moment in Bulgaria there is no independent elaboration of the problems of the reception of Roman law and the formation of law in Europe. There is no textbook updated for the needs of teaching and seminars on Roman private law, and even less - for those taught from 201-2014. year new discipline "Roman Public Law". In this respect, Bulgaria lags significantly behind other countries, in which the respective disciplines have their own websites, and also publish electronic or printed magazines with novelistic themes. Separately, there is a significant number of teaching aids for seminars, tailored to the main courses, hours and interests of students. The experience of colleagues in this area can and should be shared.
So far, there have been no projects dedicated to the study and teaching of Roman law and the Roman legal tradition and the coordination of these activities at European level and the exchange of teachers and stuчdents under the Erasmus Program. In many other European countries, this has been the subject of special attention and funding for more than 30 years.
The project will fill a gap in the didactic literature, will create a prerequisite for teaching in accordance with modern trends, and at the same time will provide an opportunity for students and all those interested in historical and comparative research to get acquainted with leading publications. on the topic of the project.
The development of a website and a magazine in digital form is a suitable form for wider dissemination of information related to the project, for its continuous updating and supplementation and for adequate presentation in view of both the needs of the learning process and the wider interests of colleagues to Roman law and the Romance tradition.
