DIPVTATIO SECVNDA: IVSTITIA
EXTRA ISSUE / 2020
For the second time the Circle of Roman Law at the Faculty of Law of Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” organized competition, dedicated to the subject “IUSTITIA”, held on May 27, 2019. Iustitia is a Roman goddess of justice, corresponding not so much to the Greek goddess Themis as to her daughter Dike. Thus, it is a personified image on monuments, statues, reliefs, as well as on coins. But iustitia is also an abstract concept that is usually interpreted as "justice", although in Latin the term "aequitas" is used in the same sense, which also has its divine personification. In modern languages, originating from Latin, iustitia is usually associated with the judiciary or more specifically – with justice, case law, etc.
