CONCILIUM NICAENUM I anno CCCXXV
Issue I / 2025
From 8 to 10 May 2025 in the city of Iasi, Romania, a major international confer- ence took place, jointly organized by the University “Alexandru Ioan Cuza”, Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” and the Balkan Association of Roman Law and Roman Legal Tradition “Societas pro iure romano”. It was dedicated to a significant event for the global Christian community, celebrated in 2025 – 1700 years since the First Ecumenical Council of Nicaea.Societas pro iure romano“. Тя беше посветена на едно знаменателно за световната християнска общност събитие, чествано през 2025 година – 1700 години от Първия вселенски събор в Никея.
Seventeen centuries later the Council of Nicaea is evaluated mainly from two positions. First – and this has been emphasized in the organized celebrations of the Christian community worldwide – exclusively from a religious point of view, ac- cording to which the Council and all that happened in it are seen with emphasis on the purity and stability of the faith and above all with the formulation of the Creed. Along with this, its significant place in the political processes of the early fourth century in the Roman Empire, but also throughout Europe, for the legal and social development and the consolidation of state unity, for which it relied on the support of religious leaders, is also defined. From these positions many other diverse and complex dimensions can be analysed.
Authors in the first issue of 2025 of IUS ROMANUM are Romanian professors, assistant professors and PhD students with an impressive scientific presence from “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University as host of the forum. Along with them, a significant number are representatives of both Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” as a co-organizer of the conference, as well as members of the Balkan Association of Roman Law and Roman Law Tradition “Societas pro iure romano”. This time as well the trend of stable and authoritative presence of the established scholars with interest in this subject is clearly outlined, but also the enthusiastic participation of the young colleagues who start their scientific path with in-depth research. The collaboration between them is also noteworthy, with quite a few co-authored papers.Societas pro iure romano“. И този път е ясно очертана тенденцията на стабилно и авторитетно присъствие на утвърдените учени с интерес към тази проблематика, но и на ентусиазираното участие на младите колеги, които започват своя научен път със задълбочени из- следвания. Прави впечатление и сътрудничеството между тях, като не са малко статиите, представени в съавторство.
